Excelsior Spa

Introduction

Excelsior Spa is located all over the Metro, with branches in Tomas Morato, Shaw Blvd. and Robinsons Galleria, etc. Depending on the branch, the price is around 380-400 pesos for a 60 minute massage in a common room. The price includes 1 drink, which either iced tea or orange juice, use of their steam room and shower facilities. You are requested to take a shower or steam then shower before getting your massage. You’re going to be wearing shorts and a robe that they provide for your massage. We’ve tried the spa in Tomas Morato.

Ambience

To be honest, the inside does not really look like a spa, but rather a huge locker room that leads to a small common room. There are very few beds in the common room, only 8 beds I think. It’s a very small common room so the aircon is really cold, and the lights are very dim. Nature sounds are played in the background. Despite the overly cold air-conditioning and the locker room type feel (because you are still inside the locker room technically), it’s all very cozy. It also is quite relaxing after your body gets acclimatized or just sometimes it can be hell if you have a cold, then the ac just magnifies your cold exponentially.

Quality of Service

Excelsior Spa uses a combination of Shiatsu and Swedish massage techniques. They use a good amount of oil which is surprisingly is not too greasy on the skin, which is a good thing. The masseuses are quite good and the massage is very relaxing. It’s so easy to drift off to sleep because of the soothing massage, very dim lights and cold ac. Not the best by any stretch of the imagination, but good value for the price.

I visited Excelsior Spa Robinsons Galleria branch last Feb. 13th around 3PM. It was my first time there but I find the facilities and massage good for the price. The only downside was that the receptionist was frowning for some reason when I was inquiring and when I paid after the massage. She was very discourteous and would be a reason not to return to the spa if not for the good massage I received from the therapist.

I went to the spa at Robinsons Galleria last night together with my friend. We were asked to pay 900pesos by the receptionist, i gave her 1000peso bill and she gave us 100peso as change. Then the receptionist asked me to change the 1000 peso bill i pay because she said it has a small torn and the bank may refuse to accept it. With no doubt i change the 1000 peso bill, then she gave us the key for our locker room. We finished at exactly 9pm. We noticed that we were the last customer at that time. On our way home, i remember the 1000 peso bill the receptionist insisted me to change, the bill came from the atm machine how come the bank will not accept it? I tried to looked for it, but i only searched in vain. We tried to go back to the spa, but it was already closed. It was only then that we realized that receptionist did not even issue an official receipt. I will come back to the spa on Monday and will keep you posted regarding this incident. I will be on vacation this weekend. How i wish that this blog may reach the management or the owner of the Spa regarding my complaint for the receptionist assigned at around 7 to 7.30pm last night Thursday September 10, 2010 at the Excelsior Spa Robinsons Galleria Branch. Again the receptionist did not issue Official Receipt and the receptionist confused us regarding the change of 1000 peso bill without returning it? Thank you and i hope to receive a feedback on this.

I visited Excelsior Spa on 21Dec11 for a His/Her massage along with my Wife - I found the facilities quite good - however, best of all was the masseuse (Shally) - she was very good, skilled and really "hit the spot" - I will definitely be visiting again

Excelsior spa Robinsons Galleria
A very disappointing spa! The room for couple was so expensive and definitely not worth the prices. The therapists are not taking good care of their customers very well. Privacy is not so much practice here. They dont have curtains so you will be seeing other customers while having their massage though massage area for men and women are separated unless you will be getting couples room for 1400 pesos. Our experience here was so terrible. I definitely not satisfied. I was hoping to be relaxed but i felt more pain on my back after this massage. You will be wasting your money here.

Very inspirational to hear about someone pursuing their dream and becoming successful instead of following the traditional path.
