The Big Apple Spa

Introduction

There have been several Big Apple Spas that have been popping up all throughout the Metro. They offer cheap massages ranging from foot to back to full body. Pricing starts at 290 pesos for a full body massage which is very cheap. They employ various styles of massage all on cubicle type rooms. We tried out the branch in SM Hypermart Tiendesitas, there are several others I think in malls.

Ambiance

Massages are done in ‘private rooms’ which is a small cubicle where there is barely enough room for the client let alone for the masseuse. The floors looked nice enough with wood like finishing. The partitions for the little cubicles are painted in white and some have a small shelf with a candle which might be considered a fire hazard being so cramped and so near the bed. The music they played was hardly acceptable for relaxation, in fact I believe that they were listening to a local radio station. But me being the sleepyhead that I am, I still managed to doze off in the middle of the massage.

Quality of Service

They offer massages with and without oil. You get what you pay for here and that’s not a whole lot. The masseuse was always on top of the bed, I think sometimes she was even standing on the bed. The cramped space really affected the quality of the massage. The masseuse was having a hard time figuring out a way to move around the room to massage different parts of my body. The pressure was also not good enough for me. Overall, cheapness and I was not very satisfied with the service.

Big Apple Spa sucks big time.

You are to wear shorts who knows how many persons before you wore the same old torn shorts. The towels used to cover the body is already soiled that mean it was used several times. The masseur lady doesn't have enough energy to do her thing effectively. I wouldn't waste my P500 to have a massage in this spa again. Ever!

Horrible. Never Again.

When they first opened in Robinsons Galleria, I was duped to trying out the service. It was a horrible experience and they wanted me to pay to double for extending. I just wanted to avail of the 1-hour package after the 1/2hour initial offer. They said that since I didn't specify that from the beginning, I had to pay two 1/2 hour rates! WTF! What's the difference? I was already on the damn table and they didn't have customers. The staff and manager were rude but the bottomline is, I didn't pay double coz I'm not the type who'd be willing ripped off. Good thing I found a good spa with great service and the rates are pretty fair. I'm rather surprised that the Big Apple Spa still operates to this day. Sheeesh!

Broke my back!

These guys above are not over exaggerating..

They've just opened a new branch here in Libis and thought i tried it out yesterday...well sort of run out of option since most spas i frequent that time were full.
Dang... i should have patiently waited than dragged to this pit!

Up to this day my back and bone hurts.. instead of being relieved.. i think i have to set an appointment with a chiropractor.

Don't ever try or dare to go there again. They do not give you a relief.. they give you pain so you can go back to them over and over if you are an uninitiated spa goer.. they'll give you a run of your dough.
